Technical and Financial Studies - Due Diligence
The technical and economical feasibility of a proposed wind farm plan relies on the site- appropriate selection of wind turbine model (this also involves a site assessment analysis) and size (accounting for accessibility issues and energy yield) , the wind resource assessment, the wind farm layout and the financial aspects of the investment. Accounting for all these factors, the energy yield for actual and reference conditions may be derived and the financial fact-sheets (net present value, internal rate of return) of the investment determined. International Wind Engineering has prepared a large number of technical-financial feasibility studies for wind farm projects applying for the Power Production Permit required by the Greek Energy Regulatory Authority. The studies include a detailed uncertainty analysis explicitly considering all the non-controlled sources related to the project. Due diligence services comprise the technical and environmental aspects of a project. Wind resource assessment (analysis of measurements, long-term calculations, wind flow simulations), energy yield calculations (detailed uncertainty analysis), site assessment calculations, review of environmental and grid-connection issues.
