January 2020:

Following our application to join the MEASNET expert group of “Site Assessment”, our company participated successfully in the Proficiency Test 2019 related to the Site-Specific Evaluation of Wind Conditions. A report according to the relative MEASNET procedure has been submitted. The assessment of the report is pending.

November 2019:

Our Renewable Energy Laboratory participated in the Round Robin Calibration Program conducted by MEASNET. Results are expected in the spring of 2020.

Our laboratory has successfully completed the extension of its scope of accreditation in accordance with ISO17025 by the Hellenic Accreditation System (ESYD), by introducing the calibration capability of electrical measuring instruments and in particular DC voltage, DC current and frequency.

October 2019:

Our company has been accredited by the Hellenic Accreditation System (ESYD) in accordance with IEC61400-12-1 ed.2.0 (2017) for services related to wind potential measurements, power performance measurements of wind turbines and calibrations of anemometers and wind direction sensors.

September 2019:

Our company applied for the extension of the scope of accreditation of the laboratory in accordance with ISO17025 to ESYD. With the introduction of the calibration capability of electrical measuring instruments and in particular DC voltage, DC current and frequency. Provided with this our company will be able to provide data logger calibration services.

December 2018:
Our company has successfully completed its compliance with the applicable data protection law (General Regulation (EU) 2016/679 - otherwise "GDPR") and takes all necessary technical and organizational measures for the safe processing of received data.

Our personnel successfully completed the IRATA (Industry Rope Access Trade Association) Courses and Examination.

May 2017:
Our Renewable Energy Laboratory participated in the proficiency testing (PT) schemes in the field of Anemometer Calibration and Power Performance Measurements of Wind Turbines under the IECRE System.

The IECRE System for Certification to Standards relating to Equipment for use in Renewable Energy applications operates schemes with the aim of facilitating international trade by promoting and simplifying certification and approval at national level through mutual recognition of test and inspection results. The IECRE is in its establishment phase under the framework of IEC. It currently operates in three sectors, one of which is Wind Energy. Renewable Energy Test Laboratories (RETL), such as INTERNATIONAL WIND ENGINEERING, may apply to be assessed and certified according to the IECRE scheme for Wind Energy for Anemometer Calibration (IEC 61400-12-1, Annex F), Power Performance (IEC 61400-12-1), Loads Testing (IEC 61400-13) and Blade testing (IEC 61400-23).

A prerequisite for approval is the successful participation in Proficiency Testing Scheme in the specific competence area. The 1st PTs for Anemometer Calibration and Power Performance are ongoing. They are organized by MeasNet and INTERNATIONAL WIND ENGINEERING participates in both.

The PT for Anemometer Calibration includes the calibration of two cup and one propeller anemometer which are calibrated in the wind tunnel of each participant-applicant and the results are assessed to verify the results of each institute with respect to strict deviation limits. The phase of calibration is almost completed and the results will be available later this year.

The PT for Power Performance includes the processing and analysis of site calibration and power curve datasets and terrain and obstacle data by all participants. The results are assessed with regard to an extensive range of steps and calculations according to the IEC 61400-12-1 to verify the results of each institute with respect to strict deviation limits. The first phase of the PT is close to completion. The results of INTERNATIONAL WIND ENGINEERING in this first phase are successful in all foreseen tests.

After completion of the PTs, INTERNATIONAL WIND ENGINEERING will apply for membership in the IECRE scheme in the fields of Anemometer Calibration and Power Performance Measurements of Wind Turbines.

April 2017:
Our company started cooperating with Carl C. A/S, a Danish company specializing in the production of steel towers since 1969. Our company is able to provide and install permanent / self-supporting meteorological masts.

February 2016:
The expansion of the accredited field of our Laboratory by MeasNet was completed. The new field not only includes the calibration of anemometers but also the power performance of wind turbines.

September 2015:
The expansion of the accredited calibration field of our Laboratory by E.SY.D. was completed. The new calibration field includes the calibration of wind vanes (range 0° to 360°). The reference angle uncertainty is 0.6°.

February 2015:
MultiWind is a software of data processing and results presentation of wind measurements (including accompanying measurements of meteorological parameters) developed and applied by our company since 2003.

January 2015:
We officially became a member of MeasNet.
