General

Our company takes the protection of your data very seriously and treats it as confidential. Our privacy policy is in line with the "General Data Protection Regulation" (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council of 27th April 2016).

In more detail, we do not collect personal data by which you could be personally identified, unless you voluntarily submit them to us. Personally identifiable information is collected only when voluntarily provided by a visitor. Some personal data (name and email only) are collected when you voluntarily deliver them to us by filling out the contact form on our website's "Contact" page. 

In case you voluntarily submit to us personal data, we will contact you to obtain your approval as to whether we can store your information for a specific period of time (1 year). If we are unable to contact you within 5 days or in case you respond negatively, then your details will be deleted from the records of our Marketing and Communication department.

The purpose of keeping your personal data (your name, corporate e-mail, business phone number/s,  position in the company you are working for) is to be able to contact you under the following circumstances:

  • In case of an already existing cooperation, to know where we can contact you (telephone and e-mail)
  • In case of an already existing cooperation, we will send you some e-mails to update you regarding our new activities (new services provided, partnerships and certifications), which will not exceed 2 e-mails/year
  • In similar cases, with employees of companies with whom we have not yet cooperated but with whom we are in contact for a possible future cooperation

There are no other cases for which we will contact you, nor share your information with any third party without your permission (unless we are ordered to do so by a court or a government agency).

Moreover, when someone visits our website statistical analysis is made on his/her surfing behavior by Google Analytics; a web analytics service offered by Google. The analysis of your surfing behavior will be anonymous, as we will not be able to personally identify you. How do we collect your data?

There are 2 ways for us to collect data:

  1. When you voluntarily provide personal data to us by filling out the contact form (name and email)
  2. By cookies, by which you cannot be personally identified (i.e. we can find out the browser and/or the operating system you are using). For more information read the section “Cookies Policy

 

Why do we collect the data?

Our team is collecting the data a. to constantly improve our website and the visitor’s experience and b. to analyze how visitors are using the website (number of website visitors, average duration of a visit, most famous webpages etc.)

 

Your rights regarding the data collection

We appreciate your rights and want you to understand your choices and control over the information you have given to International Wind Engineering.

Every website visitor has the right to contact ask and request information about her/his stored data at no charge (our e-mail address is gdpr@windengineering.gr).

Below all the rights of the data subjects are stated, as detailed in Regulation 679/2016.

A) The right to withdraw consent
The data subject has the right to withdraw his consent when the basis for processing his or her personal data is that of the consent (ie the processing is not based on a different justification permitted by the GDPR, such as a contractual or legal obligation).

B) The right to be informed
At the point where the personal data are collected by the data subject or obtained from another source, it is required that the data subject is informed of the use of these data and of their rights in relation to them.

C) The right of access
The data subject has the right to ask if there are any stored and processed data about him/her, request access to this data plus request the following information:
1. The purposes of the processing
2. The categories of relevant personal data
3. Recipients, or categories of recipients, of the data, if any, in particular third countries or international organizations
4. The period during which personal data is stored (or the criteria used to determine that period)
5. The rights of the data subject to correct or delete his or her personal data and to restrict or oppose their processing
6. The right of the data subject to submit a complaint to a supervisory authority
7. Information on the source of the data, if not directly from the data subject
8. Whether personal data will be subject to automated processing, including profiling and, if so, logic and potential impact
9. When the data is transmitted to a third country or international organization, information on the safeguards in force

D) The right to rectification
When personal data is inaccurate, the data subject has the right to request the correction and completion of incomplete personal data on the basis of the information he can provide.

E) The right to erasure
The data subject has the right to request the deletion of his or her personal data without undue delay when one of the following applies:
• Personal data is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected
• The data subject withdraws consent and there is no other legal basis for the processing
• The data subject opposes the processing of personal data
• Personal data has been processed illegally
• For compliance purposes, ie for fulfilling legal obligations
• Personal data was related to the subject of the data as a child

F) The right to restrict processing
The data subject may exercise the right to restrict the processing of his or her personal data in one of the following cases:
• When the data subject challenges the accuracy of the data until we can verify its accuracy
• As an alternative to deleting, in cases where processing is illegal
• When the data subject needs data for legal claims but is no longer required by us
• While a decision to oppose processing is pending

(G) The right to data portability
The data subject has the right to request that his or her personal data be provided in a "structured, commonly used and machine readable format" (Article 20 of Regulation 679/2016) and to transmit this data to another party. This applies to personal data for which the processing is based on the consent of the data subject and on the processing by automated means.
Where feasible, the data subject may also request that personal data be transferred directly from the holder's systems to those of another provider.

H) The right to object
The data subject has the right to oppose processing by citing the following legal reasons:
• Processing based on reasons of either public interest or legitimate interest.
• Automated decision making - Profiling
• Processing is done for direct marketing purposes
• Processing is for purposes of scientific or historical research or for statistical purposes unless the processing is necessary for the performance of a duty performed in the public interest

(I) Rights on automated decision-making and profiling
The data subject has the right not to be subject to automated decision-making when the decision has a significant impact on it and may insist on human intervention where appropriate. The data subject also has the right to express his opinion and challenge the decisions.
There are exceptions to this right, which is whether the decision:
• It is necessary for a contract
• It is permitted by law
• It is based on the explicit consent of the data subject
